NORWICH TO TILBURY PYLONS – what can YOU do?

Final consultation live 10 April – 18 June 2024

Here are some of the things you can do during the Statutory Consultation:

  1. Respond to the consultation.   The easiest way to do this is email contact@n-t.nationalgrid.com by  18 June 2024.   You can choose to wait until the end of the consultation period if you wish to submit a more detailed response.  By then we’ll have our consultants’ reports back.   Brief email – say:  “I OBJECT.  The Norwich to Tilbury pylons project brings severe harm to the environment, communities, landscapes & heritage of East Anglia. Viable and deliverable alternatives such as offshore grid and undergrounding of cables have not been presented for consultation”   Share this text with all your neighbours and family and ask them to take one minute to send the email.  Click here for a template for how to write a more in depth response.
  2. Print out objection slips and ask others to sign them. Send to FREEPOST N TO T. Click here.
  3. Contact your Parish Council and ask them to respond to the consultation.    Tell them they can check this page for high level consultation information as the consultation moves forward.  In the meantime, the should study the National Grid documents and list the HARM caused by the project in your parish.  Our normal recommendation is to begin the consultation with standard campaign text (which we will provide) that sets out the flaws with the project as a whole.  Then the response should look at local issues. Here’s a template response: click here.
  4. Contact your councillor and MP and say, ““The Norwich to Tilbury pylons project brings severe harm to the environment, communities, landscapes & heritage of East Anglia. Alternatives such as offshore grid and undergrounding of cables have not been presented for consultation.  What can you do to help?”.   Find your councillor or MP by clicking here.
  5. Please donate!  We now have a barrister, a heritage expert and a landscape and GIS expert.  It’s imperative that we make strong technical arguments at this Statutory Consultation stage.   Find out how to donate here.
  6. Sign & share our petition. Can you help us to get it over 30,000?  Click here.
